Who are eligible?
African American high school seniors and college freshmen arts students.
In what category of the arts?
All forms of the arts are eligible and considered.
For what amounts are the awards given?
Varies – up to $3000.
How many awards are given?
On average 5-6.
Is the award given to the winner or their school or what?
Award goes to recipient.
If I win, when will I receive the award?
Day of the event, but only following your presentation.
In what categories are the awards given?
In all categories for which a winners has been selected.
May I apply in more than one category?
Yes, but the award amount is determined by overall presentation,
not by numbers of categories in which you applied.
If I win once, may I apply again?
Yes, provided you will be either a first or second year college
student.
If I don’t win this year, may I apply again next year?
Yes, provided you will be either a first or second year college
student.
Are the awards for students in the arts only?
Yes.
What are the age requirements or limits?
16 – 19.
